For Arcadi’s latest Hors Saison dance festival, we’d like to take you on a choreographic journey of many dimensions.
First and foremost, obviously, an artistic dimension, a voyage to the very heart of the different universes of sixteen choreographers, to the heart of their preoccupations, their obsessions and the way in which they’d like to make us understand the body and its social and political evolution. The artists’ work is orientated in various different directions – a theatrical direction for Michel Schweizer, Hamid Ben Mahi and Carlotta Sagna, a more introspective focus for Julie Nioche, Radhouane el Meddeb and Gaël Sesboüé, or based on a form of derision for Tommy Noonan, Ivana Müller, Martine Pisani and Martin Nachbar. Emmanuel Eggermont, Karine Ponties and Hèlène Iratchet explore personae, while Daniel Larrieu, Hervé Robbe and Raphaëlle Delaunay take an approach which pays particular attention to composed, danced movements. Together they demonstrate a plurality of approaches which, without trying to categorise them, illustrates both the vitality and the apprehensions of this art form.
There is also a geographical dimension to the journey as, over seven days, you can go to the four theatres co-directing this event : the Théâtre de la Cité International in Paris, the Ferme du Buisson public theatre in Marne-la-Vallée, the Théâtre de Vanves, with its officially approved dance stage, and the Centre des Bords de Marne in Le Perreux-sur-Marne.
And lastly, there is the professional dimension, as this event, while warmly welcoming the general public, has also been devised with Greater Paris, national and international promoters in mind, so that Arcadi can accomplish its mission to support artists, particularly with regard to assisting the promotion of dance. Pour cette nouvelle édition de Hors Saison, le rendez-vous danse d’Arcadi, nous vous proposons un parcours chorégraphique à plusieurs dimensions.
Dimension artistique en premier lieu bien sûr, un cheminement au cœur de l’univers de seize chorégraphes, au cœur de leurs préoccupations, de leurs obsessions, de la manière dont ils souhaitent nous faire appréhender le corps, et son développement social et politique. Ces artistes déclinent leur travail dans des directions plurielles : un développement théâtral pour Michel Schweizer, Hamid Ben Mahi, Carlotta Sagna, un axe plutôt introspectif pour Julie Nioche, Radhouane El Meddeb, Gaël Sesboüé, ou autour d’une forme de dérision pour Tommy Noonan, Ivana Müller, Martine Pisani et Martin Nachbar. Quant à Emmanuel Eggermont, Karine Ponties et Hélène Iratchet, ils explorent la figure du personnage et on retrouve dans l’approche de Daniel Larrieu, Hervé Robbe et Raphaëlle Delaunay une attention particulière au geste dansé et composé, sans oublier une ouverture en direction du jeune public avec l'ingénieux spectacle de la compagnie La BaZooKa.
Une pluralité de recherches qui, sans vouloir les catégoriser, témoignent à la fois de la vitalité et des inquiétudes de cet art.
Une dimension territoriale aussi, francilienne, puisqu’en sept jours vous pourrez vous rendre dans les quatre théâtres coréalisateurs de la manifestation : le Théâtre de la Cité internationale à Paris ; La Ferme du Buisson, scène nationale de Marne-la-Vallée ; le Théâtre de Vanves, scène conventionnée pour la danse et le Centre des bords de Marne au Perreux-sur-Marne.
Une dimension professionnelle pour finir, puisque cette manifestation, largement ouverte au grand public est aussi pensée à l’attention des diffuseurs franciliens, nationaux et internationaux permettant ainsi à Arcadi de remplir pleinement sa mission de soutien aux artistes, en particulier dans le cadre de son aide en diffusion.
